Creek and Rye Fires

On December 5, 2017, a pair of fires started and are burning above Sylmar and Santa Clarita Valley areas at this time. The first fire is the Creek Fire that has burned 7,000 acres and prompted the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to issue mandatory evacuation orders for 150,000 including people and small and large animals. The second fire is the Rye Fire that has burned 6,000 acres and threatening 5,460 structures. Responding to both fires are Los Angeles County Fire, Sheriff, City of Los Angeles Fire Department and U.S. Forest Services Angeles National Forest.

In response and to provide emergency public information to the residents impacted by these two fires, the County of Los Angeles has activated its Emergency Response webpage. Below is the emergency public information in regards to the Creek and Rye Fires.
